We are excited to host touring band Drugstore Lipstick LIVE at El Rio along with AroMa, Howls Road, and Strawberry Panic! Drugstore Lipstick New Orleans Synth Pop-Glam Rock-melodramatic act Drugstore Lipstick has been traveling by ufo across the country in support of their debut album Bio Girl. A sci fi rock opera telling the story of an Intergalactic robotic heartbreaker, and her fated and short lived love affair with the vulnerable Earth Girl. Inspired by the ingenuity of the New Orleans artist community, Drugstore Lipstick combines queer storytelling and spectacle to elicit the "highs and lows" of gay heartbreak. AroMa AroMa is a prolific performer from Oakland, CA, driven by a profound desire to be a catalyst of self expression with music exploring the extremity of human emotion. Being a part of this lineage of the performer— inspired by the likes of Nina Simone, Grace Jones, Screamin J Hawkins and many more— they seek to honor the torch they carried, stoking the flames of an emboldened humanness and liberation.
